Trusted 5 Star Rated PDI Services

Trusted by Customers

A BYD PDI is an independent, third-party inspection of a brand-new BYD electric vehicle carried out in the hours before you sign the delivery paperwork. PDI Plus offers BYD PDI service across North India for the current BYD India range, including Atto 3, Seal (rear-wheel-drive and Performance dual-motor), and eMax 7. Every inspection covers paint depth readings, OBD scans, CBU import documentation audit, Blade Battery-specific verification protocols, e-Platform 3.0 architecture diagnostics, DiPilot ADAS calibration on top variants, DC fast charging port and protocol verification, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) adapter check on applicable models, Cell-to-Body integration verification on Seal, gymnasium-themed interior verification on Atto 3, BYD Connect activation, extended battery warranty documentation audit, and a same-day written report.

BYD occupies a genuinely distinct position in the Indian market. Pure-EV brand with no ICE, no hybrid, no diesel across the entire lineup. Every BYD sold in India today is a fully electric vehicle. Every BYD PDI is therefore an EV PDI, built around dedicated electric vehicle inspection depth that ICE-and-EV brand pages cannot replicate at the same level. BYD’s Blade Battery lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell-to-pack technology is a proprietary architecture that differs meaningfully from every other EV brand’s battery approach in the Indian market. Cell-to-Body integration on the Seal makes the Blade Battery a structural chassis element. The e-Platform 3.0 dedicated EV architecture creates a specific inspection framework that no ICE-derived platform requires.

That positioning creates a PDI reality with focus points that no other brand’s inspection framework covers with the same EV-first depth. Blade Battery-specific diagnostic protocols distinct from NMC battery verification used on Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai, and Kia EVs. e-Platform 3.0 electronic architecture requiring platform-specific knowledge. High DC fast charging protocol verification up to 150 kW on Seal. V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) adapter presence and function verification on Seal and eMax 7. DiPilot ADAS calibration with BYD-specific protocols. Cell-to-Body structural integration verification on Seal. And the full CBU import documentation flow for every BYD sold in India.

Our BYD PDI service is built around these BYD-specific realities across the Delhi NCR, Haryana, Western UP, and Punjab region.

BYD Deliveries in North India: The Realities That Shape Handover

BYD India’s pure-EV focus, CBU import structure, Blade Battery technology, and premium buyer positioning each create specific handover conditions.

Pure-EV brand with no ICE alternatives: BYD India sells only electric vehicles. Atto 3 (compact CUV EV), Seal (premium electric sedan), and eMax 7 (three-row electric MPV) form the current India range. There are no ICE alternatives, no hybrid variants, no diesel offerings. This is genuinely unique in the mass-market and premium Indian passenger car segment. Every other brand in the set that offers EVs also offers ICE alongside. BYD is EV-only, which means the PDI framework is built entirely around EV inspection depth.

CBU import structure: BYD India currently sells its passenger vehicles as CBU imports from BYD’s global plants in China. This creates a specific delivery flow: import paperwork, customs certification, VIN cross-check against import bill of entry, port storage duration considerations, CBU-specific extended warranty structures, and service network access documentation for CBU-only parts and service. Every BYD PDI includes a full CBU import documentation audit as standard.

Blade Battery technology: BYD’s proprietary Blade Battery uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry with a cell-to-pack architecture that eliminates traditional modules. This is fundamentally different from every other EV brand’s battery approach in India. Tata uses NMC. Mahindra INGLO uses NMC. Hyundai Kona and Kia EV6 use NMC. MG uses various chemistries, including LFP on some models. BYD’s Blade Battery has different thermal characteristics, safer heat behaviour under stress, different state-of-charge patterns, and different degradation curves. PDI verification includes Blade Battery-specific diagnostics distinct from NMC EV verification.

e-Platform 3.0 dedicated EV architecture: BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 is a dedicated EV platform used across the current India lineup. This is not a converted-ICE platform but purpose-built for electric vehicles from the ground up. Electronic architecture, high-voltage system design, thermal management, and integration between battery, motor, and vehicle systems are e-Platform 3.0-specific. Verification requires platform-specific knowledge distinct from converted-EV verification.

Cell-to-Body integration on Seal: BYD Seal features Cell-to-Body (CTB) integration where the Blade Battery pack is structurally integrated into the vehicle chassis rather than mounted below it. This is a genuinely unique architecture in the premium electric sedan segment. Structural integration means the battery serves as a chassis element, affecting rigidity, weight distribution, and repair considerations. PDI verification on Seal includes CTB integration status.

High DC fast charging capability: BYD vehicles support high DC fast charging speeds. Atto 3 accepts up to 80 kW DC fast charging. Seal accepts up to 150 kW on the Performance variant. eMax 7 supports high-speed charging appropriate to its battery capacity. Charging protocol verification, DC fast charging port function, and charging cable specifications are dedicated PDI focus points.

Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability on Seal and eMax 7: BYD Seal and eMax 7 support Vehicle-to-Load, allowing the vehicle to power external appliances up to 3.3 kW. V2L adapter presence, function verification, and power output testing are BYD-specific delivery-day checks.

DiPilot ADAS on top variants: BYD’s Advanced Driver Assistance System is branded DiPilot. Available on Atto 3 top variants, Seal Performance, and eMax 7 top variants. Camera-plus-radar approach with BYD-specific calibration protocols. Distinct from every other brand’s ADAS in the set.

BYD Connect telematics: BYD’s connected car platform providing remote vehicle control, real-time diagnostics, charging status monitoring, and BYD-specific service integration. Different from every other brand’s connected platform.

Extended battery warranty structure: BYD’s Blade Battery warranty runs to 8 years or 1.6 lakh km typically, an industry-leading duration. Vehicle warranty is separate. Motor warranty structure is specific. Extended warranty options available. Verification at delivery includes confirmation of applicable battery, vehicle, and motor warranty terms.

Growing service network with limited current footprint: BYD’s service network in India is expanding but currently more limited than established brands. Delivery-day clarity about the nearest BYD service centre, particularly for high-voltage service, Blade Battery-specific service, and CBU-related parts availability, matters more for BYD buyers than for established EV brands. Service network access documentation is a priority PDI step.

Premium buyer positioning: BYD’s India lineup targets premium EV buyers who have chosen electric mobility as a primary purchase driver. This is distinct from mass-market first-EV buyers (Comet, eC3, Tiago EV entry positions), distinct from mid-market EV buyers (Nexon EV, Windsor EV), and distinct from ultra-premium EV buyers (Ioniq 5, EV6, EV9). BYD occupies a technology-focused premium EV space with buyers who have researched the technology carefully.

Gymnasium-themed interior on Atto 3: BYD Atto 3’s interior features a genuinely unique design language, including music-inspired dashboard elements, dumbbell-shaped door pulls, and specific colour combinations. This design is unlike any other brand’s interior in the Indian market. Design element verification is Atto 3-specific.

Distinctive design language across the range: BYD’s exterior design uses specific styling elements: distinctive LED signature lighting, aerodynamic surfacing on Seal, three-row family MPV proportions on eMax 7, and BYD-branded design cues. Design-element verification against invoice specification matters for buyers who chose BYD partly for the distinctive aesthetic.

Form 22, PUC (EV-specific), insurance policy. Temporary registration matched to the correct RTO series. FASTag activation and verification on the Parivahan Sewa portal. BYD Connect registration and tier confirmation. Blade Battery warranty documentation (typically 8 years / 1.6 lakh km). Vehicle warranty documentation. Motor warranty documentation. CBU import documentation. Service network access documentation. V2L adapter documentation for Seal and eMax 7.

BYD Paperwork, Warranty, and Program Specifics

BYD’s pure-EV focus, CBU import structure, Blade Battery technology, and premium positioning create paperwork specifics that a generic PDI checklist cannot cover with the same depth as brands with mixed ICE-EV lineups.

Multi-layered warranty structure.

  • Blade Battery warranty: typically 8 years or 1.6 lakh km (industry-leading duration on LFP)
  • Vehicle warranty: separate structure covering non-battery components
  • Motor warranty: specific coverage terms
  • CBU-specific extended warranty terms different from India-assembled EV coverage

Verify each layer at delivery and confirm activation.

BYD Connect activation and subscription tier. BYD’s connected platform activates at delivery on a subscription tier tied to your booking. Verify pairing completes, owner mobile registration is confirmed, vehicle telemetry appears in the app, subscription tier matches booking, and remote vehicle control features function properly.

CBU import documentation as standard. Every BYD sold in India is a CBU import, so CBU documentation audit is a standard PDI step on every vehicle, not a subset. Import paperwork completeness, VIN cross-check against bill of entry, and CBU-specific service network access are verified on every BYD PDI.

Service network access clarity. BYD’s service network is expanding but currently more limited than established brands. Delivery-day confirmation of the nearest BYD service centre, high-voltage service capability at that centre, Blade Battery-specific service availability, and CBU parts availability documentation matter more for BYD buyers than for established EV brands.

V2L feature documentation (Seal, eMax 7). For Seal and eMax 7 with V2L capability, the V2L adapter is a physical accessory that should be present at delivery. Missing V2L adapter is a documented BYD delivery issue that surfaces post-delivery when buyers try to use the feature. Physical verification at PDI prevents this.

Blade Battery-specific documentation. Battery serial number verification, battery state-of-health baseline documentation for future reference, LFP-specific service network access, and Blade Battery replacement provisions if needed long-term.

Cell-to-Body documentation (Seal). CTB integration is a structural feature affecting long-term repair considerations. Documentation clarity about CTB structural implications and repair network capabilities matters at delivery.

Fleet and corporate structures. For BYD fleet purchases (limited to premium fleet applications given price positioning), verify GSTIN, PAN, business address, and that the invoice format supports input tax credit correctly.

BYD VIN Decoding and CBU Origin

How do I confirm my BYD’s CBU import origin and manufacturing details?

BYD VINs are 17 characters. The plant code sits at the 11th character. The model year sits at the 10th. Our inspectors decode both at every PDI. Three things get confirmed:

  • Plant of manufacture. BYD’s global plants in China produce the current India lineup for CBU import. VIN origin coding reflects the specific plant.
  • Model year. Verifying that a vehicle sold as a current-year unit was actually built in that year, particularly relevant for CBU imports where port storage can push manufacturing dates back significantly.
  • Month of manufacture. Read from the VIN and B-pillar sticker. CBU port storage means older manufacturing dates are common; stock older than 4 to 6 months warrants a conversation for premium buyers. This is a longer window than for India-assembled brands.

When to Book Your BYD PDI

Book as soon as your VIN and delivery date are confirmed. Two to three days of lead time helps us align with the dealer.

For festive periods, allow three to four days of lead time. BYD deliveries in Delhi NCR are premium volume rather than mass volume, but demand for Atto 3, Seal, and eMax 7 is growing.

Add extra lead time in these cases:

  • Every BYD: allow at least one full day given the CBU documentation audit, Blade Battery verification, e-Platform 3.0 diagnostic, and premium feature depth on every model. All BYD inspections run 3 to 4 hours.
  • Seal Performance (dual-motor): allow additional time for dual-motor verification, CTB integration audit, and DiPilot ADAS calibration. Runs at the upper end.
  • eMax 7: allow extra time for three-row seat verification, V2L audit, and premium MPV inspection depth. Runs 3.5 to 4 hours.
  • Fleet deliveries (limited BYD fleet applications): book 5 to 7 days ahead for standardised multi-unit inspection.

Book Your BYD PDI Service

A Pre-Delivery Inspection is a small, one-time step that protects a large, multi-year purchase. Whether you are buying an Atto 3 as your compact CUV EV with distinctive gymnasium-themed interior, a Seal Premium as your premium electric sedan with Cell-to-Body integration, a Seal Performance as your dual-motor performance EV with V2L capability, or an eMax 7 as your three-row electric family MPV, an independent PDI Plus inspection helps ensure you take home the exact BYD you paid for with all the Blade Battery technology and pure-EV capability you were expecting.

Two ways to move forward:

  • If your delivery is confirmed, share the VIN, dealership name, delivery date, booked variant, drivetrain (single-motor or dual-motor for Seal), and expected V2L requirement for Seal or eMax 7. Share import documentation reference if available. We will lock a slot.
  • If you are still evaluating options, particularly if you are comparing BYD against Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, MG ZS EV, or Tata premium EVs, or if you are considering the first pure-EV purchase for your family, tell us the models you are comparing, expected timeline, and use case. We will guide you on when the inspection should be booked and what to focus on across your options.

Fill in the enquiry form on this page or call our team. We respond within a few working hours and can accommodate same-week BYD inspections across Delhi NCR and adjoining zones, with full pure-EV inspection expertise and CBU documentation support available.
